the netherlands in pictures: windmills, canals and a wrap on europe

our final stop in europe was bittersweet. we flew out of amsterdam and made a stop at rotterdam prior to that. toss in a couple of daytrips to haarlem, kinderdijk, den haag and hoek van holland and our 10 days went by quickly. thoroughly enjoyed the electic vibe and architecture of rotterdam along with the plentiful outdoor-friendly markets and food halls and amsterdam was a surprise; in spite of it being one of the busiest cities we visited this summer, there was plenty to ways to enjoy the city away from the crowds. we didn’t know how our central america portion of our trip was going to materialize since we hadn’t planned it yet so our final days in amsterdam had a meloncholy mood to it. we also drank half of the country’s supply of fruit juices from albert hejin market. haha had no regrets.
