Snowy Beach
February 27, 2016
Snowy beach seems to me to be an oxymoron until I witness it from the train on its way between Otaru and Sapporo. It still won’t tempt me to go into the freezing water like a surfer I spotted 5 minutes after I took this photo.
Notice a bunch of guys standing along the rail track with snow shovels. This is not the first time I’ve seen them. Makes me wonder why they are in this spot between the train tracks and the beach.
I think if I were to live in Hokkaido, I’d have amazing arm muscles from all the snow shoveling I would have to do.
